Human beings need a purpose for living. Their quest to fulfill their destiny motivates them to move forward, breaking the mental barriers of the past and overcoming whatever obstacles they encounter along the way.
Till our 30s we are on exploration but turning 40 is a big milestone. The years start zipping by faster than ever, and thoughts of the future pop into our head more often than we’d like.
This is the age where we start to defy society’s stereotypes, our career is in better shape than it was a decade before, we know what we want from life, and we just might find ourselves hitting peak confidence. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, then, that making the most of this amazing period in our life is easy.

- Do what you love.
- Identify your sweet spot and see if the world needs that.
- Make that sweet spot as your passion to drive you everyday and see if that can be paid for.
- Do what you are good at not what makes you just earn money.
- Find your true purpose to live a better and meaningful life.
- Have a strong financial plan. You can do this by making sure your plan includes short-, mid-, and long-term financial goals. However, make sure your goals are realistic, so you can increase your chances of sticking to your plan.
- Pay down all debts and be free. This gives you a sense of freedom to live your life your way.
- Engage in career development. At this point, you’re likely settled in your career, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing left to learn. Take advantage of seminars, continuing-education programs, and anything else you can find that will help you learn a new skill.
- Work on your bucket list. Living a joy-filled life will attract the right people to you, help you feel happier, and increase your productivity. When you do things you love, it will be nearly impossible not to exude a positive attitude.
- Aim for work life balance. Protect your financial future by getting enough rest, eating a balanced diet, and taking vacations.
- Nurture relationships, form strong social ties-that is having a broad circle of friends and good family relations.
- Focus on Health and Fitness Goals. Eat a healthy nourishing diet, exercise daily and manage time to reduce stress.
- Drink alcohol in moderation.
- Walk to work, or just go on a walk for at least twenty minutes each day.
- Be close to nature, create your own organic vegetable garden, go outdoor picnics.
- Eat wisely and follow the ancient wisdom of stop eating when the stomach reaches 80 percent of its capacity.
- Get the right amount of sleep.
- Wake up early.
- Be conscious of your daily routine and try to adopt positive habits for holistic living.
- Play with children or pets to stimulate the mind and boost self esteem.
- Stop pretending anymore and just start enjoying things you actually like.
- Soak up a moderate amount of sun each day.
- Keep the mind active to keep the body young. Have a positive attitude and emotional awareness.

- Reassess your retirement plan.
- Learn new things. When we stimulate our minds to new things, our mind becomes active and youthful.
- Reinvigorate your relationship with some flirting.
- Learn to say no to things or people.
- Keep a clutter free home.
- Forgive your mistakes and forget others’ mistakes.
- Enjoy the little things around like enjoying all the seasons, relishing food, spending time with friends, doing home chores together, cooking meals etc.
- Keep yourself active and involved in various things which gives you a sense of purpose and happiness.
- Build relationships you can depend on and find a reason for living with them and being around them.
- Discover new things.
- Travel a lot to capture experiences.
- Connect with the spiritual side of life to explore new dimensions and meaning to life.
- Do something for the community without any monetary gain, that gives you peace of mind and a good sleep at the end of the day.
- Be helpful to people, friends and family.
- Think of becoming a solopreneur, work on your leisure, follow your dreams and still earn a decent living.
- Follow a hobby that gives you happiness and fulfillment.
